Planet Group Inc. Acquires e-Courier™ and WorkPoint® from ACI Worldwide
Omaha, Nebraska — October 6, 2006. Planet Group, Inc. (“Planet”), a leading provider of information technology consulting, payment enabling technologies and transaction processing services, today announced the acquisition of the e-Courier™ and WorkPoint® assets from ACI Worldwide (“ACI”), the principal operating company of Transaction Systems Architects, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSAI).
e-Courier, based in Edmonton, Canada is a comprehensive electronic correspondence communication medium that gives businesses a secure and reliable way to access and share information through multiple channels—Web, wireless devices and the most widely used Internet application—email.
WorkPoint, based in Omaha, Nebraska, is a Business Process Management (BPM) solution that coordinates all aspects of a process—people, rules, tasks and systems -into a cohesive whole. The solution offers unlimited implementation options as a standalone engine or as an embeddable workflow component. With the latest release of WorkPoint, the native Microsoft version was migrated from the existing COM+ architecture to a completely .NET-managed version. The existing Java engine and the .NET release run natively, leveraging the strength of their respective architectures.
Both e-Courier and WorkPoint have impressive client lists, which include domestic accounts in the US and international clients in Canada, Europe and Asia. Approximately 50 customers use the solutions.
“Planet Group is pleased to partner with ACI to acquire the rights of WorkPoint and e-Courier and build upon their successes in the payments industry” said Mike Wofford, CEO & President of Planet Group, Inc. “Planet’s customer base includes Fortune 500 clients looking for secure communication applications and business process management tools and we look forward to growing both businesses in new cross industry vertical markets.”
Planet Group has maintained the office in Edmonton Canada for e-Courier staff and is relocating WorkPoint staff to Planet Group’s Omaha headquarters. The acquisitions were completed September 30, 2006.
